Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

So I bought the ax1500 on Facebook sales so after getting home I factory resett the device to make sure it's all wiped and trying to configure through the tether application I then connects to the extender and it asks for a device login so I can manage it on the application and I haven't set one up so I try to default which is admin for the username and password lower case and it is still incorrect, I have read online factory reset if forgot password and set up again but this is the first time setting it up after factory reset, please someone help as I would like to access through the tether app.

Hi,

A retail version of any "Archer AX1500" product should only ask for a login password, no username.

Are you also asked for a username and password if you try to access the router interface via a web browser? ( http://tplinkwifi.net or http://192.168.0.1 )

If you have indeed an "Archer AX1500" that asks for both, username and password, then this is likely a model that was intended for distribution by an Internet Service Provider, who might opt to configure a default username and/or password of their own. (i.e. not admin/admin)

Can you please look at the label that should be stuck to the bottom or the rear of your Archer AX1500 and tell us the exact "Model:" description printed on it?

Also check whether there might be a username and password printed on that label other than admin/admin.

  @woozle

Hello thank you for responding it is an Model: EX220-G2u

AX1500 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router Vr.1

When I access the web version it just asks me for the password which is the router password and I can access that but when on the tether app it says username and password to manage device which is not the same as TP-Link ID.

I got told to factory reset the device to unbind it and still nothing also got told to use the aginet app and it's not being detected but also have seen videos of people connecting it to there phones. It has wireless password on the bottom aswell as PIN and login password which logs me in on the web.

The EX220-G2u is neither listed on the Tether Compatibility List https://www.tp-link.com/en/tether/product-list/ nor is there any mention of Tether on its product website https://service-provider.tp-link.com/wifi-router/ex220-g2u/#overview .

Any chance that whoever you saw in a video managing this router model via a phone was doing so via the phone's web browser?

Sorry I'm confused because it says the ax1500 is compatible and also it says In the instructions to connect through the application and also it gets detected on the application aswell and then says login to manage device which I can't because it's already binded to someone account and doesn't want to reset when I do a factory reset.

I'm afraid, I don't know why the Tether app offers you to log in, despite your router model not being mentioned in the compatibility list. Maybe someone from TP-Link knows more.

The router you have is the TP-Link EX220-G2u. The router with the name TP-Link "Archer AX1500" is a different model.

That's what I'm confused about, when I spoke to TP-LINK they said it's on the aginet app but doesn't get detected on that application but also they are saying its an ISP router but resetting it should fix the login but it hasn't fixed it but I appreciate your help so much, thank you
