This deco is goin in bin if i cant get back to 1.15

hi

did you try the firmware recovery trick : https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2958/ ?

I applied it (http version) on the DECO X50-5G V1, to downgrade from firmware beta x50-5g-SP1-whole-up-beta-ver1-2-0-P1[20241230-rel33540]_2024-12-31_10.03.32.bin   down to    Deco X50-5G(EU)_V1_1.1.7 Build 20240809.

It worked pretty well, I'm now back on 1.1.7, as it was shipped with.

I will return it to the vendor, It is not reliable :

  • Why does TP-link still ship HW V1.0 although the V1.2 and V2.0 are available ?
  • I also bought and tried the DECO BE65-5G, much more expensive but seems more reliable, the VPN feature is available in the official version and works quite well. still missing the static route though.

Here's what I have noticed about the speed issues.

The very slow speed, 2Mbps, is when the B28 band is used. The SNR is between 0.2 and 2.0dB.

It then seems to get stuck on B28.

Reboot then reverts to B3, B20, B1, SNR is above 12dB and speeds are 90Mbps.

The X50-5g is in the same position and signal strength is always 60%.

  @David-TP

I have the latest firmware beta from 1230. The speed was not good at 1217 at all. I think the new ui in the firmware are compromising the cpu and memory. You should take back everything. I want to downgrade to 1.1.5 please

  @David-TP could you not rease a patch with 5g only as an option on network selection, my tp-link archer nx200 has this and has never lost 5g connection since i have had it.

 With regards to cpu usage mine is pretty much constantly at 100% and crashes, have tried with just my phone connected aswell, no pther devices connected.

again never had this problem with 1.15 and 1.17

the archer very rarely goes above 20% usage

how can 2 tp link products be so far apart for reliabi

  @David-TP

I don't have any technical knowledge only experience as an end user. It seems that this product is faulty and we're expected to help fix it.

It was working fine until the 03:00 reboot. Since then the speed has died to 8Mbps maximum. It was 150-200Mbps at 4g.

The satellite Deco units showed offline but wifi was working.

I put the sim card back in the MR200 sitting along side the X50-5G. I ran another speed test and it was up at 60Mbps.

I put the sim card back in the X50-5G and straight away back to 200Mbps.

Signal strength is 60% and hasn't changed.

Can you help with a firmware that works?

  @David-TP cell tower is fine, have another x50 and an archer nx that work perfect, as i said i never updated the other x50. So basically your telling me the best place for this x50 is now the bin. The firmware updates have rendered it useless.

  @tap0 Hi, Thanks for the update. I have reported the update to the engineer and he will contact you directly via email.

@Rushtonwolves

@Ipat

Since the 1.2.x and 1.1.x firmware versions are based on different platforms and the firmware bin file was oversized, it cannot be downloaded through the web UI or the firmware recovery tool.

@Ipat , Did you have a speed issue on the 1.2.1 build 1217 beta? 1.2.0 build 1230 could revert to 1.2.1 build 1217 via web UI.

@Rushtonwolves

Would Deco drop to 4G mostly at a specific time? Maybe the locked Cell is crowded and overloaded.

Did it help if we disable the Cell lock and let Deco automatically choose the Cell tower?

Thank you very much and best regards.
