Hi, ive just moved house and the demand on my previous mesh was too much, not speed but purely the quantity of connections and the Virgin Hub 3 couldn't cope with the  connections either. so Ive set the Virgin Hub 3 to modem mode and used the Archer BE550 as the only router, ive split the 2.4, 5 and 6ghz up into their own channels and started the multiple connections (sorry if I dont know the correct terms). in the room where the Router is everything is working (4k firestick, echo, lights Sonos Gen 2, Sonos sub, 2 IPhones and a couple of IPads) all on at the same time, no problems all hitting around 280 download as needed. My Desktop is connected via 5ghz and is just the other side of the internal wall oppersite the router and is hitting the same 280. on the same wall as my computer is anther tv with a 4k firestick the TV is connecting to 2.4 on a full triangle but the fire stick as limited connection. off the firestick is a stereo paired pair of Echo pops and when connected do give a old fashioned split sound but the signal from the router is so low that they are dropping out at will. the pops are about 7m away with an internal wall in the middle.

1) is there anything in the router setting to make it connect to echo better

2) does it matter the orientation of the router

3) i would have thought it was too close to mesh so if it as to be, what extender should I go for?

4) thanks for your help and yes the routers firmware as been updated

Hi@Tryingtolearn1,

The orientation of the router is indeed important, there are several steps you can take to improve it: 1. Router Placement: Ensure that your router is placed in a central location within your home or office. Avoid placing it near walls, obstructions, or other electronic devices that may interfere with the signal. 2. Channel Selection: Check the WiFi settings on your router and select a less congested channel. This can help reduce interference from neighboring WiFi networks.

You can try to enable IOT network for Echo system:How to set up the IoT Network Feature on a TP-Link Wireless Router

If you want to add a new easymesh extender or router, you can see easymesh compatible devices.
