Hi all,

Is it possible to use the TL-WR710N as a secondary wireless access point?

In my home I have a wired network with a router that already offers wireless access. However, at the top floor the wireless is very bad. I do have a wired connection at the top floor however, but it is used by the network printer. My plan is to setup the TL-WR710N as a wireless access point for the already existing wireless network. At the same time, I would like to use the secondary LAN connection to connect the wired network printer on the top floor.

Is this possible with the TL-WR710N?

If not, is this possible with the Netgear PR2000?

Thanks,

Repeater mode on WR710N should be OK.

Wifi at the top floor is most likely too bad for repeater mode, and I have a wired connection.

Will this work in access point mode as well?

I forgot that there are two LAN ports on WR710.
It is OK. In access point mode, you can configure the same username and password for its Wi-Fi and it has a second LAN port for you to connect the printer.
