SMB sharing (V1?) broken after firmware upgrade
Hello everyone / TP-Link support,
1st of all, thank you for your products, long time customer for years and I feel the price/functionality of your routers are great. Now the issue :p :
Since the FW 1.2.1 Build 20250804 rel.79639(4555) of the BE230, my Playstation 2 (that used SMB v1 for file sharing) can't stream files properly.
Troubleshoot so far :
- Worked perfectly with the FW Archer BE3600(EU)_V1_1.1.4 Build 20250318 (previous FW)
- SMB sharing works perfectly with other client (Windows client, Apple TV client, ect...)
- Playstation streaming works perfectly with Windows SMB V1 server and Linux SMB server.
- Some leads : PS2 SMB client uses SMB V1, log on my Windows SMB server shows PS2 SMB client seems to close the connection when I select the file to stream and re-open it just after to start streaming. The issue, I understand with the new firmware is that the 1st connection works to select the file to share but when the client close & re-open to start streaming, the SMB server of the TP-link doesn't respond anymore. Issue was not present on previous firmware. It is just a guess as I don't have access to BE230 logs of the SMB server.
Conclusion on my side : Issue is located on SMB server side of the BE230 as my PS2 client has no issue with Windows SMB server or Linux SMB server.
Questions :
- Did you change anything on SMB functions on the firmware 1.2.1 (changelog said Enhanced the stability and security of device) ?
- Any chance to provide me some help with SMB sharing (as the UI just provide ON/OFF Toggle) ?
- Is there a way to revert back to FW 1.1.4 (changelog said This firmware release cannot be downgraded to the previous version) ?
I understand this use case is niche, but as long time customer, I felt like the auto-update just disable a key feature for me without possibility to revert it back officially :(
Thank you for reading, any help/feedback is appreciated. I can provide more info if requested.
Regards
Kalagan
