I solved my problem. 

Deco still cant find VM ip address when using WiFi.

Still not sure why.

But i bought a usb-Ethernet adapter and plugged my laptop in to my router and now my deco can se the VM ip address.

 

If you get this problem to:

I still had a problem with port forwarding not working even though i could se the VM ip address. 

But i had an old router working as a modem and the Deco as a router.

I had to port forward both of them.

@Prbz Thanks for the work around, not possible for me as the PC is no where near the router :(

3 years later, and no fix. Ridiculous. Returning my X60 because of this huge flaw. Either need to accurately show ALL devices on the network, or allow manual IP to be entered.

Hi.

I'm surprised that there is nobody from TPlink to comment on this.
What is the point for everybody to share the same problem if TPlink doesn't steup and take position?

We already have the plan to be able to add a device manually for the port forwarding on the later firmware upgrade.

@TP-Link Finally... TP-Link is going to do something after these while...

Anyway I had to buy a regular router as replacement to the main node to settle the raised issue.
Hopefully your firmware upgrade will resolve this issue troubling many others.

@anipperess I am running into the same problem and working in the IT realm I cannot have a product that does not allow this.  We can find the IP via ping but not in the app this is ridiculous.

Same problem here, this is crazy, such a basic feature missing taking so long to add. All of this because trying to be extra fancy when we do not need to.

 

Same problem in the menu on reserving an IP based on MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I have to return this hardware because of the crap firmware!!!!

@TP-Link Deco I'm not able to open a port, I have tried the following steps: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1797/ but when I check if the port is open it says is closed. I really need to open it, because it's for surveillance IP camera.
