Had the same table lamp plugged into this socket for over a year. Updated the plug name in the Kasa app and within Alexa. Since then the kasa app keeps sending messages to say it's switched the socket off due to over temperature protection. Followed kasa advice ie unplugging etc but still sends same message.

Again, had no issues before now.

Anyone any ideas. Thanks

@Cybercarter

Please check whether the HS100 is poor contacted, such as partially loose. And check whether the pins contacted are rusty/have Impurities adhering to the contact surface.

All above may cause the HS100 to overheat and trigger over temperature protection.

Try to change another appliance plugged into the HS100 and verify whether it works well.

Besides, you can hard reset the HS100 and reconfigure it to give it a go.

Still the same, please tell me the model number of the appliance and the power consumption.

May it help.
