So I bought 2 of these. Got them connected  and they work ok for a few days. Come offshore with work and the devices are now unreachable.

Got a friend to check and they are both sockets sitting with green light on showing connected

So all in all a waste of 40 quid as the soon as I leave the area they are unusable.  I am sure the issue is in the app some where.

If they need a hard reset it's pretty difficult to do when I am away and defeats the purpose of paying for this tech. Should have went with an old fashioned timer. Cause these are poor.

@Rod1

Hello, sorry for the trouble caused; we can do some troubleshooting first to narrow down this issue and try to fix it.

1. What is the model number of your TP-Link device? And what are their hardware and firmware version? You can find on the device settings page via Kasa app.

2. When they became unreachable on the app, what is the led status of them?

3. Try to move them closer to the main router, and what about other wireless devices? Do they lose wifi connection?

4. At that time, please verify whether you can access them locally if possible.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

@Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin.

Thanks for the reply.

Ok so they have now started working . Which I find bizarre as I have not done anything to them or changed anything on the app. Although they are sometimes dropping out but this is occasional.

To check it is not my wifi I connect to my Hive which works each and every time.

When they were not connecting I got a friend to check the lights and both sockets were showing green so they seem to be connected.

It would seem to me that the issue is with the remote / App side and not at the home.

I will continue to monitor and if the problems persist I will make contact.

If you have any suggestions to why they drop out it would be appreciated.

Regards.

Rod
