C200 not pairing
C200 not pairing
Anyone else having trouble with pairing? The C200 connects fine to the WiFi but then it only fails over and over when trying to pair. Tried with both Android and IOS - same result. No pairing. Tried a fresh c200 from another box - same result. No pairing ...

It is the error message in the mobile app. The case is resolved though. The problem is that I use AP isolation. The workaround for this is to disable it, do the pairing and then enable it again. :)

Hello,
Please follow the steps below to do some troubleshooting.
1. During the configuration, you need to choose the router's wifi and put in the wifi password, make sure the wifi password is correct, you can forget the home network on the phone, then reconnect it to verify the password.
2. Turn off the Advanced settings on the router, such as Firewall, AP Isolation, Client Isolation, MAC filtering or Access Control.
3. If the camera is connected to a range extender, try to set it up and connect to the main Wi-Fi network.
4. Reboot the router and the camera.
5. Factory reset the camera and start over with the setup process again. (With the camera powered on, press and hold the reset button for at least 5 seconds until the LED blinks red)
Good day.

Hello, what is the led status of the Tapo C200?
What do you mean by saying it failed to pair? Could you please provide more information?
Thanks a lot. Good day.

@TapoNoob @Kevin_Z Hi, I have the same problem: the camera connects to the wifi (led solid green after the voice says "wifi connected"), but the pairing process keeps failing.
I have tried with 2 different iphones (different ios version). I have disabled the AP isolation but still no success.
Any other solution/workaround?
Thank you!
Chiara

@Cdesio Try a different router. I simply added an old router as extra WiFi hotspot to my network. That worked like a charm to begin with. Then I investigated what settings differ and found the ap isolation. Finally tp-link support confirmed the problem and solution. After that I simply disable ap isolation when adding a Tapo camera and then enable it again. I do not use the additional router anymore.

I have found an EASY solution!
I had the same problem:
- two (2) C200, one wifi
- the first gets connected to internet
- the second is installed, but can only be controlled locally (error message in the app)
- I have tried various wifi nerworks
- I have followed instructions and changed the DNS
- I have updated the C200 firmware
- I have checked router settings
- I have changed to another C200 camera
- etc.
But without success...
The problem remains and only ONE camera can be monitored outside the wifi.
The solution?! Easy!
- I logged out from the Tapo app.
- I started a New account (new e-mail)
- I then installed all cameras again.
Voila, it works!
So, it seems to be a "centralised TP-link" problem related to the app server.
Good luck!

For me it was because I was connected to a VPN.
