Hi,

 

I purchased two of the KP303 smart power strips recently. When they work, they're great. However, I've noticed a few times when I try to voice control them that google tells me the "device isn't available right now".

 

When I go into the Kasa app it says "local only" next to the three plugs. If I leave it for a while, it eventually reconnects.

 

Doubt it's an issue with my local network as I have loads of other devices working without problem. 

 

Is there an issue with the connection retry logic? I suspect it's failing to connect momentarily (for whatever reason) and then not retrying again for a period of time. What's the logic? Is it exponential backoff?

NB: KP303, not HS300. There was no KP303 option in the drop-down list.

For your case, could you please help me check the following information:

May I know the model number of your main router?

How long have you had the KP303 and when did this issue start?

May I know when it was local only, how did you recover the remote control connection, rebooting the plug or it would come back automatically

By the way, how many times would it repeat within one day?

CGM4331COM - This is the Xfinity XFi Gateway.

How long have you had the KP303 and when did this issue start?

Usually I unplug and plug back in and that will work 99% of the time. Had it not work the other day.

 

By the way, how many times would it repeat within one day?

 

Not sure, as I usually have an automation to turn the plugs on/off that run twice a day, I usually either notice it in the morning or evening.
