Party Mode or Dancing Lights or flashing lights feature
Hi, I have bought couple of Kasa Smart bulbs and I am happy in general with the lights and the functionality. One feature that I find missing with Kasa bulbs is that there is no possibility to have a party mode or dancing lights or flashing lights. After I did some research on internet I see that with other popular smart bulbs like Philips Hue, it is possible to achieve this kind of party mode using IFTTT kind of apps. I noticed that IFTTT app is compatible also for Kasa Bulbs but when I downloaded IFTTT I couldn't find any feature available to have a party mode or flashing light or anything similar for Kasa Bulb.
I think that with a smart bulb that can change colour having a party mode is probably one of the first things that would come to mind of any customer.
Could you please develop the party mode or flashing lights or dancing lights kind of feature either through your own Kasa app or via IFTTT kind of app?
Thanks- PP

@jlboggsCO it shouldn't be down to us to write script for this function to work.
tplink/kasa need to Sort this out can't be that hard to implement the update!

@Andyboy1 the irony is if you open the kasa app and choose any or your lights and hit color, circling your finger around produces the desired effect... So the app literally does it already, just not automatically 😕

@Thomas_Crane I'll see if I can disconnect the code from my existing smarthome installation and get it in a public github repo. Fair warning, my code is complete garbage. In the meantime, I'd recommend setting up a test VM (I prefer VirtualBox and Ubuntu 20.04 Server) and installing the python-kasa library with pip3.

@jlboggsCO Can you give us a little bit more detail?
Is not clear at all what needs to be done, and how, and to make it work in which way.
thanks!!

@EricDimitri using this requires a little knowledge of Linux, git, and command line usage. The only advice I can really give is to read the readme file in the repo.
