HS100 Firmware 1.1
I have 2 HS100 v4's that have been working solidly for a while on v1.0.3. According to my smart home these went unavailable over night and now no longer work, they are connected to my wifi but neither my smart home nor the ios kasa app will connect to them.
I tried setting them up again but the ios app only connects if I do a full factory reset, this then works only in the app until I turn the plug off or close the app then it won't connect again.
Can you confirm a firmware release was done? Where are the release notes for this? How do I downgrade to 1.0.3 and prevent auto updates in the future

I've purchased quite a few of these Kasa switches on Amazon, and have now changed my five-star reviews to one-star DO NOT BUY warnings. If TP-Link re-enables local control of these switches, so they'll work as before with third-party home automation systems, I will restore those five-star reviews. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

When you say create a ticket ?, You mean send you the Mac addresses via a direct message in this forum ?, I have spoken to support many times via the support mechanism but they never ask for the Mac address.
Can we just send you our Mac addresses via this forum ?
Thanks

Yes, you could send me a private message(click my nickname and choose the message)
And you could also provide me the ticket ID with the support team.
Thank you!

Your response is very concerning. The kasa app is for basic users. More advanced users want full customization and control via api or otherwise. Therefore of you remove access via home assistant (due to security concerns) without adding a more secure way then you are closing off a whole community of users who will no longer buy your products and even throw away or sell your devices.
If tp link kasa is not friendly to customization anymore I will no longer buy any more tplink products. Even though I liked your cameras and price point this is the exact reason I did not purchase your cameras (Newest cameras Not friendly to customization)

You're saying that anyone who wants to control Kasa devices with anything other than the Kasa app will have to find this forum, submit a list of MAC addresses, and await a cloud-based firmware downgrade? This may be a temporary workaround, but it is absolutely not a solution. A solution would involve adding a configuration setting in the new firmware, one that could be enabled via the Kasa app, that would allow unauthenticated local control of the device just like the old firmware. Make it pop up whatever warning you want, make the user acknowledge that they understand the security risks yada yada, but make it possible. We do not want to have to authenticate to your servers in order to operate our devices, we do not want them to rely on cloud-based control, we do not want to have to use the Kasa app for daily control, we want the Kasa hardware to interoperate with our existing home automation systems.
The form and function of the Kasa hardware with the old firmware is excellent. Please don't let the new firmware destroy an outstanding product.

I have three HS100 Smart plugs and this broke many of my smart home automations I have using home assistant, and now you guys are asking us to create a ticket, with MAC IDs to get a solution per person? this is ridiculous...
What kind of idea was this?
I am selling my smart plugs and never looking back... what a waste of time

@Brook Thanks! I just bought my first 4pack of smart plugs before diving deep into total replacement of all light switches and smart home on the weekend. I will be returning my 4 plugs tonight, appreciate finding out now and not after I spent a fortune on your products.
