Is the local API back working with Home Assistant?
So I am currently deciding which smart plug to buy and the Kasa brand is generally coming up favourably in many reviews. However I also found some evidence that the local API has been removed from these smart plugs and that they no longer work with Home assistant. There was also some motion from TP-Link to re-add this in a beta firmware, but the post referencing to the beta firmware (https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/239364?page=1) basically states that this is no longer available. So I wonder what the current status is here? Do these plugs work with Home assistant if I buy and upgrade some today or will they no longer work and I should look for some other product?

@JasonB190 ep10s work with Home Assistant 2021.10 and later
All the tested devices are here:

@MikeP Makes sense. I will look for other alternatives then. Thank you very much!

Still broken with HS110, hardware 4.1, firmware 1.1.0
TPlink refused to fix it, and there's no more firmware update.
They managed to remotely break my setup.

Yep, I went with Shelly plugs for now, they have at least a supported API.

Is this only an issue with the 110's? I almost bought a 4-pack of EP10P4's, but canceled the order until I figure out what's going on here. Home Assistant setup here too...

@JasonB190 Hello,
Only HS100/HS110(UK) V4 upgrade the local authentication the Home Assistant integration is affected, you could get more details from statement mentioned in the below thread:
https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/239364
As home assistant is a third party open source software, related troubleshooting is beyond what could assist with, it is recommended to seek some help or refer to other users experience on Home Assistant forum:

@Solla-topee Thanks for the response. I would never expect support for a third-party product here. I'm asking if equivalent API functionality exists in the EP10 that also exist in other TP-Link plugs (i.e. HS103's. No available public documentation is available from TP-Link, but it's reasonable to ask since I am adding your devices to my network. Not knowing is keeping me from purchasing.

Currently, the tp-link smart home API is not open for public though some programmers may share their findings regarding smart home API on GitHub/Soft Scheck. You may go to these sites to have a look. If you mean Home Assistant integration with certain smart home model, as HA is not one of tp-link official partners, the integration could not be guaranteed, it is recommended do some research on the Home Assistant forum before purchase or test them before return Windows. Hope this could help.

@Solla-topee So there is an API and exposed port on the EP10's, but just not documented?

If your concern is still with Home Assistant integration, EP10 seems not been tested by Home Assistant, please check my private message.
Some third party developer may have a way to access the API, you could have a check on Github.
