Implemented [FEATURE REQUEST] TAPO Cameras ADD STATIC IP
good day tp-link I would like to atleast have a static ip option for the tapo cameras, its especially important when you have a central dvr and most cctv ipcams have static ip option. I know that we should set a static IP on the router but it does not always work, the tapo camera goes for its dhcp first then after turning it off and on again it gets its static ip assignment. if we have a blackout and the power goes on back again the tapo camera will boot first before the router which would mess up the ip again. I hope STATIC IP feature is added. thanks
Consumers I need your help to upvote static IP to infinity

Sorry, I thought it's a specific topic about T200. I can say that T200's last firmware has this option now. Hope it'll be the same for all the other models in the coming weeks

@langamer101 OK so the DHCP server can't force DHCP clients to request a new IP, in other words, it is up to clients to request a new one, and that normally happens when the previous IP lease time expires. I think it's bizarre that the camera would automatically assume an IP address just because it gave up waiting for the DHCP server to issue one. IMO the correct way to do this is static DHCP leases but that means the camera must wait for the DHCP server to start doing its job. If they want to add the option of static IP that's fine by me, but if the DHCP mechanism was properly implemented wouldn't you rather use that?

I have 25 tapo C200+C320WS now. The ISP router only allows for 16 static DHCP bindings, so now what? Do I have to buy another router?
I also can confirm that no matter if the bindings are done they don't always work and even if we reboot the camera and/or router there is no guarantee that it will get the ips needed for the DVR to work properly. Static IP option on camera is a must.
Thank you.

Just bought a C210 and C211. Surprised to find no static IP option! Like hello...
This renders the rtsp stream original setup as uselss if there is a reboot. We have over 5000 customers with us, no way we can add the cameras to our list for roll outs.
Please let me know when this will be updated as I like the cameras.
Best,
Niall
