Model: Tapo P105  
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 build 220720 Rel 163239

I've had to replace my Wifi router due to a failure, and have had to do the usual re-attachment of devices on everything.  The only things that haven't worked out have been two P105 plugs.  I have factory reset them both, but the app on my Nokia X20 won't connect by Bluetooth.  I've disconnected everything else from the phone (Fitbit and hearing aids) but I still can't get past the "We couldn't find the Tapo device" 

 

Any help gratefully accepted

You'll never believe it... I have Kasa kit as well, and I tried using the Kasa app... And it flaming well worked!!!! What's particularly stupid as well is that the thrid Kasa plug was reprogrammed with the Tapo app.  They're all out of one box of four!!!!

This may be obvious, but when you replaced your router did you set the SSID and password to be the same as the old one? Doing that, everything should connect without any intervention.

Here are some tips that may help!

1. Please make sure the plugs are reset successfully, the led status light will flash orange and green when it does. 

2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on the phone. 

3. Disable VPN if any

4. Configure it with another device (using the same account)

5. Reinstall the APP. 

 

If the problem persists, please share your Tapo APP version, model of the phone and its system version (e.g. Android12 or IOS16), we will look into it!

Thank you for the update. We did not receive such feedback before. Currently Kasa and Tapo APP can only be used to manage the products from their own product lines. 

 

Could you double-check the product model in the Kasa APP? Much appreciate it if you can share some related screenshots here. We would like to look into it.

Doh! My bad... I thought I had one type, but I have both Kasa and Tapo, and I was trying to reconfig the Kasa plugs with the Tapo... Aging eyesight and tiny print is my excuse, as the two sets  look identical!  

 

Sorry to waste everyone's time!
