Hello, I wanted to change my old 2 Gang one way switch for a TAPO S220. I unscrewed the old one and I was surprised to have a live in L1 for one gang and another live in L1 for the other switch ( brown cable). Then I have a one blue cable (with brown sleeve on it) in L2 on one gang and another blue cable (with brown sleeve) on the other L2 (for the second gang).. the S220 has only one in. how should I plus those two lives in the S220? Should I isolate one and plus only one? Thank you

Hi  @Pingouinos

thank you for reaching out to the community.

Can you share a photo of wiring of the old switch and more of the community users may be able leave their ideas and insights below.

For the Tapo S220 wiring:

  • Please try to examine the wiring for Tapo S220 as the following video or FAQ.

Video: How to Set Up and Install Your Tapo Smart Light Switch (2 Gang 1 Way): Tapo S220

FAQ: How to install Tapo 2 Gang 1 Way Smart Light Switch

If the wiring looks quite different from the wiring in the video, it is better to reach a qualified electrical to identify the wires in the wall in person.

For the two live wires in the wall, may I know do you have one or two switches,  and are those two live wires  for two different switches?

Hi  @Pingouinos

May I know were you able to install the tapo switch at last, if not , you may share a photo showing how the old switches are installed and wires you've identified,  so we could take a closer look at it.  Thanks!
