Why did TPlink make & sell smart plugs for use with the Kasa App, then stop selling them?

Now their smart plugs have the Tapo name & App, but they are not compatible with Kasa devices.

I already have 4 different Apps to control similarly obsolete smart plugs!!

I notice that a similar thread was posted, viewed 600+ times, but not responded to, and blocked from comments!!!
