Energy trigger alert
Energy trigger alert

Hi there,
It should be possible to create an email alert in case a device connected to Smart plug turns on.
Example: i have a water pump connected to a P110 for energy monitoring, and when I am away from home, if that device turns on it could mean a water leak. And then I should Turn it off to prevent any damage.
Thank you.

@Wayne-TP why do you argue with the user who has a legitimate use case for the trigger? Why do you care if his water pump malfunctions and sends his phone a push notification. It's completely stupid that it's taken over 4 years and there is still no power draw trigger. I will be buying no more Tp Link products from now on

I thought I was the only one facing this issue with the water pump. I’ve been manually monitoring energy consumption to detect leaks with p115, but I really need real-time notifications to catch problems early. For example, my toddler sometimes forgets to close the faucet — and that once cost me 10 times my usual water bill 🥲. That’s why I started using the P115 to periodically monitor energy usage. But again, I need real-time alerts if the hourly consumption exceeds a certain threshold.
So I googled around and found that a Python script can send triggers to Telegram or other platforms like email. I managed to set it up — but it still requires a PC running 24/7.
Let me know if you find a better way to get notifications!
