Model: Tapo T300
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am reading that the T300 Leak Sensor has a 90db alarm.

I have an existing automation in place where if a sensor/camera picks up motion, then the hub’s alarm is triggered.

Can I add to this automation the T300 alarm (i.e. if motion is detected then hub alarm goes off plus T300 alarm goes off)?

Thank you.

T300's alarm only gets triggered when this is a water leak. It's not a dedicated alarm device like the Tapo hub.

That's what the Tapo hub can do. It's not only a controller for Tapo Sub-G devices but can also work as an alarm device. Tapo H100 and H200 are sold separately in some areas, so consider adding multiple hubs if you have a need to install alarm in multiple locations.

What do you need it for? I don't see the necessity to disable a water leak sensor's alarm by a movement. Please describe in detail the reasons and scenarios based on which you proposed this feature request?

Thank you. The hub is located next to router in the living room. If motion is detected by the sensors or the cameras and the alarm is triggered, I also need a siren to go off in the kitchen, which is away from the living room (i.e. with closed doors, the hub alarm will not be loud enough in the kitchen to hopefully scare off an intruder).

Many thanks.

A standalone tapo siren would be a great addition to the products line.

My understanding is that the hub needs to be connected to the router via cable. If not, I will purchase a hub, pair it via wi-fi and use it as a siren.

Both Tapo H100 and H200 can be connected to router via 2.4GHz WiFi or ethernet cable (H200).

*Ethernet connection is required for H200 during the configuration, after that, the connection can be switched to WiFi if needed.
