Wall Mount Bracket for C425
Wall Mount Bracket for C425
Hi there
In the user guide (page 14) of Tapo C425 there is following statement:
At 2 meters (6.5 feet) or higher,* we recommend using the Wall Mount Bracket (not included)
-> Where do I get such a Wall Mount Bracket? I did not find any on the TP Link website or on other reseller sites.
I would like to fix the camera outside with such a Wall Mount Bracket for better firmness and protection against theft.
Thank you!
Daniel

As a wireless magnetic camera, Tapo C425's design emphasizes ease of removal for charging, cleaning, or angle adjustment. Magnetic attachment is the primary recommended installation method, as listed in the product Quick Installation Guide.
Given that the camera uses PIR detection, a height of 2-3 meters is ideal for optimizing performance and reducing false detections. However, in outdoor environments, this height may place the camera in an exposed position without cover. In the event of severe weather, objects like broken branches could hit the camera and cause it to fall. To mitigate this risk, we suggest using a wall mount bracket as an additional safeguard.
Tapo C425 is compatible with the standard 1/4"-20UNC Threads wall mount bracket (Info is included in the product Quick Installation Guide), users can choose to purchase one as needed. If you opt for magnetic mounting to install the camera at a high location, avoid positioning the camera directly above areas where pedestrians might pass or where valuable items (e.g. Cars.) are kept.

Thank you for your reply.
So would you confirm that the user guide of the product is misleading/incorrect?
Can you recommend any third-party wall mount with screw that I can use to fix it stronger?
Thank you!

The user guide provides suggestions for possible installation methods. The included mounting plate ensures the basic wall mount needs. For situations requiring a wall mount bracket, it's clarified that this accessory is not included. Relevant accessory dimensions are listed in the user guide, you can search and purchase a suitable wall mount bracket accordingly. We don't offer or sell this wall mount bracket so far.

@Wayne-TP Totally unacceptable answer. If TP-Link are hinting that there's a risk when installed above 2 metres that should be included in the product advertising. As it is the documentation clearly states "the Wall Mount Bracket" and gives basic details on how it should be fixed!

Hi @Wayne-TP,
I recently purchased two of these cameras and went to mount them today to find the same issue as @D2N1. This is extremely misleading product advertisement, regarding the recommended mounting options. The user guide states the recommended installation height should be 2~3m above the ground. However in the same paragraph it also recommends "at 2 meters or higher", you "recommend using a Wall Mount Bracket", which doesn't come included, but more astonishingly than that, TP-Link doesn't even sell wall mount brackets separately.
Therefore based on those quidelines it seems to me that you do not recommend using the magnetic mount option at all, which is the unique selling point of product to begin with and is why I purchased the product.
Before I return the cameras and write a review, can you tell me is there a safe height, that does not reduce their performance, at which these cameras can be mounted at using the magnet option?
Regards,
Nigel

Hi,
I bought the C425kit that include the A200 solar panel. I saw the same note for option 3 mounting that recommended an optional wall mounting bracket that was not included. I checked and the mount for the solar panel also fits the camera :-> But, there is no part number for it. I called support and they also do not have a part number...
The mounts for the C420 and C400 appear to be the same as what would be needed for the C425...
This also appears to be the same mount as for the TC82...
All of the other model cameras, C400, C420, or TC82 do not have part numbers either.
There are mounting brackets that look similar online, but they are for other cameras like Arlo.
TP Link/TAPO needs to resolve this issue and make the parts available.

Your answer is not acceptable. Using the term (1/4''-20UNC) you mentioned, a search for a corresponding wall mount is not really successful, as many results do not reflect the necessary swivel mechanisms for mounting a surveillance camera. Why don't you provide some direct links for a screw mount option exact for the C425 camera? This will be a good answer for all the people. Thank you and best regards.

@Wayne-TP : Sorry, this answer is not acceptable for me, too. I do also have this problem, because I want/need to mount my new c425 in a height about 3.5 meters over ground (bought it a couple of days ago on Amazon due to the specs). Additionally, the place where I need to mount it is also exposed to the weather. So I really want to follow the recommendation of the quick installation guide, which clearly says it is recommended that the camera is being fixed using a 'wall mount bracket' if mounted higher than 2-3 meters. I am also searching for that bracket and I cannot find any. Please please, tell us where to get a matching one for at least the model c425, as requested. Tp-link recommends it, but cannot deliver even the link to it? Strange. Does this in fact recommend me to send the camera back and to look for an alternative one of another brand which is including a simple bracket? I cannot believe that...
Sorry for my direct words here, but they are honest.
Kind regards,
Joey.
