Wall Mount Bracket for C425
Wall Mount Bracket for C425
Hi there
In the user guide (page 14) of Tapo C425 there is following statement:
At 2 meters (6.5 feet) or higher,* we recommend using the Wall Mount Bracket (not included)
-> Where do I get such a Wall Mount Bracket? I did not find any on the TP Link website or on other reseller sites.
I would like to fix the camera outside with such a Wall Mount Bracket for better firmness and protection against theft.
Thank you!
Daniel

I agree with all said. Very Strange.
I purchased this on the German Amazon site.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0D1YN3RBG
Basically just to see if Arlo mounts work - yes they do.
Would be interested in a more stable version than this one.
So please post if found.

@Joey02 I totally agree. The unit has the facility to take a fixed mount. I bought this model as it was superior (battery ,resolution) But on my wall I can't mount it (not flat enough for a magnet mount but fine for standard mount). Even in the images showing it used in conjunction with solar panel shows it being used with a proper screw thread mount. Tp link needs to listen to what it's customers want. Otherwise it will get a lot of returns! The threaded mounts in with the other tp link products fit it perfectly.

@Wayne-TP Hello, you've stated that no Tapo Wall Mount Bracket exists for this camera. But the C425 KIT product which includes a solar panel, is supplied with a screw mount that can be attached directly to a wall without the solar panel. So Tapo do produce a mount, it's just not supplied with the camera unless you buy the Solar Panel Kit.
Are you able to escalate this so it's possible to buy the screw mount separately?

I agree with everyone else. The C425 mounting instructions include pics of a mounting bracket option. Why include this if it isn't something available. Also, rhe camera itself has threading on the back that suggests a bracket is an option. Doesn't make sense. I'd like the security of a bracket. Any ideas?

@D2N1 I don't know, but it seems to me that the threads on the rear of the model strongly imply that a mount (OEM or not) can be used. If Tapo doesn't want to manufacture or certify a mechanical mount, it should at the very least include a prominent warning that the cameras may fall and cause injuries in winds exceeding X mph/kph. The company is definitely leaving itself open to liabilities, IMHO.
I migrated from Arlo and understand another poster said those mounts will work.

@Wayne-TP as others have said, your answers are not acceptable. This product is clearly misleading. It is not suitable for outdoor use without the optional mount that doesn't exist. It is fairly water resistant but falls off the magnetic base with some rain or wind. As it comes out of the box, it is an internal use camera only. Either include a mount suitable for outdoor use or stop falsely marketing this as an outdoor camera!

@CockneyBoy Thanks for the idea! I just tried the Arlo VMA1000-10000S mount and it works great.
