@Wayne-TP I note the comments from other users. I have four C425s installed, , three of which are outside and have been subjected to fairly heavy wind and rain. No problem at all. I have no idea how long the strength of the magnets will last though, but hopefully will get a few years out of these.

That being said, the cost of producing a simple screwed base plate with the adjustable ball/socket arrangement that screws into the cameras shouldn't be too much and ought to be (at the very least) included as an item purchasable from the maker. Keeps everything neat and easy (and everyone happy).

Rubber stamp reply TP has here. Horrible exterior mounting options! Why on earth do you not have a better mounting bracket for exterior use (like your instruction recommend). Mounting security cameras on the exterior is where people mount the majority of these things. Whoever at the company thought this would be a good idea needs a reality check. People have been complaining about this for well over a year and the company has not come up with a solution other than have people purchase 3rd party mounts. Pitiful! Had I known I would have purchased another brand.

I've just had one of these delivered and was very surprised to see that, despite having a threaded hole in the back of the camera and TP-link recommending using a wall mount bracket where the mounting height is over 2m (i.e. the minimum recommended mounting height according to the Quick Start Guide, so basically any camera being used outside)  the company not only doesn't not supply one in the box or but doesn't even have them for sale on their web-site! Telling people to find something suitable themselves from another manufacturer is hardly great customer service! Apart from the issue of the risk of the camera coming off in bad weather and possibly falling on someone - and almost certainly getting broken in the fall - at 5'9" (1.75m) tall with the camera mounted at 2m or so I'd have no trouble reaching up and removing it from the mount before putting it in my pocket and walking off with it. Bye-bye £50. The selling point for me was the long 300 days or so between charging but somehow a security camera that not itself even minimally secure from theft? Really? I think this will go back and I'll look elsewhere.
