RV20 Mop Spinning endlessly
Hi, everyone
I bought the Rv20 Mop about three weeks ago. Since then it has been cleaning every day without any problems using the same pattern and the same map. Since yesterday, it has been spinning and moving the wrong way as if there were objects in the way.
I cleaned all the sensors (which were clean)
The battery was 100% charged
The tank was empty
No changes to the map or new objects
The cleaning time has doubled and there are places it passes several times and others it doesn't pass at all. It seems that there is a problem with the algorithm that causes this problem after a certain number of cleanings. It's desperate to see and hear the robot circling in an empty room when a few days ago it was cleaning at full speed. I can't imagine what the floor will look like if I put the mop down.
Model RV20 Mop
Hardware version 1.0
Firmware version 1.1.3 build 240103 Rel. 150809
Is there an update planned to correct this problem?
Have you identified the root cause?
At the moment the robot is slow and not very useful, what was a positive experience is quickly becoming a bad one.

The problem has been solved. I'm sharing the map of the cleaning carried out after the firmware update.
I'd like to thank the support team in Portugal who responded incredibly quickly and provided a solution by email
What's missing now are updates that solve other problems such as language selection...

UPDATE:
I sent the same text directly through the app. According to technical support, the problem has been identified and they will send a solution as soon as possible.
Until then, I think I'll be left with the robot running around and vacuuming poorly...

@nevesd5 How did they provide the firmware update to you? Our RV20 is still on Firmware version 1.1.3 build 240103 Rel. 150809, and there is no update available. Do you happen to have a dark floor, and is the Hall a dark environment?

I made the request for help directly through the app:Settings ->Help and Feedback
I explained what was happening, shared the report and technical support in Portugal contacted me via email. The firmware appeared in the app, it seems that support has the ability to "release" new firmwares.
I believe that this is not the "final firmware" and is just an emergency solution and that a version with more improvements will be released in a short time.
As I'm a beta tester for the app and I've sent several requests for feedback, this may have speeded up the process.
The robot's erratic behaviour happened on marble floors, wood and carpets. With the lights on or completely in the dark.
I hope I've helped

Here's a new update of version 1.1.3 Build 240318 Rel.161138, now with more than a month of daily use.
Whenever it vacuums, the robot spins on itselfeven in areas without obstacles (it seems that it has to "look around" to know where it is). Interestingly, these turns no longer appear on the map, only straight lines. Work of the programmers :) Example: The robot goes in a straight line. It stops, rotates 360 degrees and continues in a straight line again. It doesn't get lost.
Vacuuming is quite fast, although 3 or 4 times it has changed the direction of the cleaning pattern. Maybe I was tired of always vacuuming the same way.
Another issue is hitting some objects that are always in the same place, cupboards, plant pots... Sometimes it stops before, sometimes it goes around and sometimes it hits at full speed.
Another thing, and I may be being a bit meticulous, but when climbing onto a carpet the robot takes a few seconds to increase its suction capacity and sometimes it's already halfway across the carpet when it revs up the motor. Even if you increase the carpet detection sensitivity, the behavior is the same. In this case, if the sensitivity is increased, the robot accelerates the motor in places without carpets. In other words, halfway through the carpet the cleaning isn't as powerful.
But so far the balance is very positive, but improvements are always possible.

Three months after updating to version 1.1.3 Build 240318 Rel.161138,1.1.3 Build 240318 Rel.161138, the robot is starting to make more unnecessary turns where it didn't before (after the update).
The difference is that these turns are not recorded on the map because the update has hidden this defect.
When will an update be made available to all users that fixes this problem once and for all?
The time it takes to vacuum each room is gradually increasing with so many turns and I'm losing patience for something that doesn't make much sense and for which the answer is slow in coming.
