If you check Home Connect app from many companies of home appliances they have now what they call smart start that means the app knows when is cheaper to use the washing machine and then the app programs it to start at that time. 

Since my electric car is connected through the tapo plug, and many people use it for home appliances too, should be a good development to include something like Home Connect app is doing.
