Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: Latest Firmware

I recently encountered a major issue with all of my 7 Tapo P100 plugs. After moths of using them from one to the other moment all of my plugs went offline.

What I tried:

- Plugged them out and back in (didn't work)

- Reboot my WiFi (didn't work)

- Deleted all of them in the app and try to reconnect them. This made things even worse, when I now resinstall a plug after the installation it never shows online but it's immediately after the installation offline without my configuration just saying the name "Smart-plug"....

The status LED of the plugs stays orange after installation.

I use a TP-Link Deco X50 Mesh WiFi system.

What should I do to fix this? I cannot make this work even after hours of trying. This is really annoying. Thank you.

The orange LED light indicates the smart plug is disconnected from cloud. The smart plug should be online in the app when the phone connects to the same local wifi.

For remote control failure issue, you may check the suggestions in the article below, Case 2.

Cannot use the Tapo/Kasa app to control my smart devices

@Pierreke101 same here. My P110M is abysmal. And Matter just doesn't work. Immediately after adding, it goes down and never even come back once. Trash.

  @Wayne-TP

1. So I have been liasing with the support team on my issue of Tapo P110M not being able to stay connected in Apple Home via matter. After a few session back and forth, where I was told to remove my homepod, add it to a guest accound along with the P110M, nothing has been solved.

2. So I took my spare. old X50-4G, started a new network and then added both the homepod and P110M to it. Worked flawlessly without the mesh, with the standalone router.

3. I suspect the issue might be how bad the Tapo matter plugs work within Deco mesh network (more than one router in the network).

4. No solution has been found but I just bought another different Tapo device to prove my point, this time the P304M and added it today to my Deco mesh network (X50-5G + X50).

5. The result? Even worse. The newly bought P304M also couldn't stay connected when added to Apple Home via matter. Same issue. And it even introduced an even worse issue. It cannot even stay connected within my Deco mesh network. Kept going down offline. I have pinpoint it to connect only to the nearest router too.

6. Conclusion? TP-Link products are really bad. Avoid buying them for anyone who is reading.

I've also added the relevant screenshots. The last two screenshots are showing how both devices are now down.
