Hi,

I will receive my new D235 today, but I have two questions.

It should be hard-wired, like my existing Nest and with 24/7 recording (probably via ONVIF/RTSP to my Unifi Protect and/or on SDCard).

1.) Can It be directly connected to the transfomer (Model with 12V/2A or 24V/1A) without looping through the old chime (it's useless anyway, with the necessary shortcut it won't work) so why not connect directly?

2.) Is it possible to remove the battery and power it really just over the hard-wired transformer supply?
The reason for this: The doorbell is in direct sunlight and it will get extremely hot during summer - not the best combination with a battery (and I don't need it at all, it's hard-wired)...
Is it possible?

THANX!

Check the below installation guide for Tapo D235 doorbell. Device battery cannot be removed. The operating temperature of the D235 is -20℃ ~ 45℃, so the doorbell will not be affected much when it is installed in a normal outdoor environment and under sunlight.
