Multiple questions for setting up home network using powerline adapters
I am looking to replace my old powerline adapters (10 years old, another brand) for new ones, it is still working for what I need now but keeps dropping out, but I want to expand a bit
So my current set up is
- Fiber Broadband with Vodafone WiFi Router (doesn't support Mesh) in the study room, 1 of 4 ports connected to the current powerline adapter
- all devices uses wireless except my PC that is in the sitting room connected to the other powerline adapter
What I want to do is
- Replace current powerline adapter with PA9020PKit, one in the study connected to the provider wifi router and the other in the sitting room connected to my PC
- Get WPA8631P, and connect it to TV and console in bedroom via Ethernet, and at the same time extend the WiFi coverage upstairs
My questions are as follows
- Does MIMO means I can plug up to 2 devices to the Ethernet port in the sitting room and would only need one port for the - adapter in the study to connect to the Vodafone WiFi router? Or do I still need 2? Which means i have to use 2 of the 4 ports in the Vodafone WiFi router?
- - If I get the WPA8631P, does it work with my current Vodafone Wifi router since it doesn't support mesh network,
- Does the WPA6631P behaves like an AP or an extender?
- If I get the latest Vodafone Wifi power hub router, which supports Mesh network, will WPA8631P be compatible with it or it only supports OneMesh?
- Same question the first, how many ports would it use for the powerline adapter that is in the study connected to the Vodafone router? If I connect a console and TV in the bedroom via Ethernet
Thanks in advance
