Having renovated my apartment I made it a point to run Ethernet throughout each room and entry / exit locations. I also wired Ethernet for the doorbell, as I prefer wired over wifi for both better security, bandwidth and cable management (no need to provision for separate power outlets) Most of my devices are either Tapo or Vigi and the only thing missing is a POE enable Smart door bell. This in my view should be standard for all new models of devices going forward, as the benefits are many as opposed to current Wifi with seperate USB or barrel jack connection. This will also allow the Doorbell to be connected to a NVR either through TPlink or ONVIF protocols, further enhancing functionality and eliminating recording stutter and power problems when dealing with onboard batteries.
