Model: Tapo D130
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.9

I have a strong Wi-Fi connection (3 bars) at the door bell camera installed location yet the device continuously drops offline (while others have no issues). The power to the device is constant and verified as adequate (12.5 volts). When I am able to view the camera live it goes offline within a few seconds. I have configured it for auto reboot which still has me having to push the reset pin twice to three times daily. The only app I am using is the TAPO one with no other 3rd party software.

Thanks for the information. The device presented with a LED blinking red slowly however it turned out to be a power supply issue causing it to go offline. The door bell chime transformer was failing intermittently under the night time load before finally failing completely. I ran new wires to the camera from a ph50pg transformer and so far the device has been functioning well.

Does the doorbell's LED indicator change to another color when it goes offline? Please clarify what type of disconnection your smart device is experiencing and then you can refer to the suggestions in this article for troubleshooting. Cannot use the Tapo app to control my smart devices

For example, for the Tapo D130:

  • LED solid white: Connected to the cloud. (All good.)
  • LED solid amber: Connected to WiFi. (Device is not connected to the cloud, can only be controlled locally.)
  • LED blinking red slowly: Connecting to WiFi. (Device fails to connect to WiFi)
