Model: Tapo P110
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

Hi. I want my p110 to turn on when the outside temp hits freezing, which is information I can get online (for example my Nest thermostat tells me the outside temperature based on my location). From what I can tell, this is only possible via the t310, which I would also have to buy a hub for. Is it right that I need to spend approx another £35 to have this feature? It seems like it should be straight forward with the IFTTT control and using online information. Also, if I do go down the t310 route, it's not weatherproof so I will have to faff around finding somewhere to put it where it will sense the outside temp yet still be protected from the elements.

Please tell me it's possible with just the p110.

  @ClaireP

The smart plug itself does not have the ability to obtain temperature data, extra help is needed to achieve this need.

A Taou hub is needed to use the T310 temperature sensor. But the sensor is not waterproof.

Speaking of IFTTT, I found that 'Weather Underground' offers weather-related applets. You can test them to see if they function properly. If they do, you can use these applets to control the Tapo plug through IFTTT.
