Model: Tapo T315
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.8.0

I have a Tapo temperature and humidity sensor T315, and I recently noticed that in Google Home, this sensor is visible (if you connect Tapo with Google Home, of course), but you can't trigger other devices based on a temperature measured by the T315.

I can turn on a light based on a certain humidity level, but not based on a specific temperature. In Google Home, I can read both the humidity and the temperature.

In Google Home, go to Automations.
Then click the plus sign.
Click on Household.
Click Add Starter.
Then click When a device does something.
Select the T315 (it will appear with the name you gave it in the Tapo app).
And you will see that you can only set a trigger based on a specific humidity level.

Is this a Google issue, or is it a Tapo firmware limitation that prevents Google from using the temperature sensor data as a trigger?

I know that I could use the temperature as a trigger in the Tapo app, but in the Google Home app, I can trigger devices that do not appear in the Tapo app (meaning they are not part of the Tapo family).

Only humidity

Luchtvochtigheid = Humidity

@Ammo69 - I am having the same issue on the T315 and T310 as well. It was working for years. Either a recent Google home or tapo update has broken it. My google home automation is now displaying the temperature a F instead of C and when I select to change it there is only humidity to select. In google home if I select the sensor it shows the temp in C fine.

I think its a Google Home issue as I also have a non-tapo sensor that may also have the same issue.

I force stopped the app and cleared cache. Also tried changing the Tapo temp display unit to F with no luck.

No updates yet that fix this that I can see.

I did find a workaround using the "google scripting" editor - it allows you to create an automation based on the temperature.

@goms Thanks. I wrote a script yesterday, and it works!
