Hi there,

 

I have adopted 12 tapo plugs into my home iot network. First I have assigned them via a dynamic IP via dhcp for setting them up and integrating them. 

 

Since i had a bit of time left i updated the ip settings in my dhcp to a reserved ip (different ip then what was reserved). However i do not see an option to renew the ip.

 

How do i renew the ip of the tapo's?

Thread can be closed. I solved this by power cycling the entire house. Would like to have a more friendly way for this though...

Setting static IP is not available on the smart plug side. You can do this through router settings and then restart the smart plug to make the new changes take effect.

Hi Wayne,

 

I know static ip is not available from the plug itself. Which is not really an issue. My main concern was that there does not seem to be a way to restart or re-retrieve an ip for the plug outside of pulling the plug out of the socket. Or am I overlooking an option in the tapo app?

Once the IP has changed, the smart plug will be disconnected and the app control is no longer available.
