Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.5 Build 240411 Ref 143808

For several weeks Alexa was happily linking with my 8 Tapo T100 plugs.  Then one morning a week or so ago they were all apparently unresponsive.

I have tried everything I can find: re enable the skill, reset each plug, factory reset Alexa, re-register Alexa, remove Tapo & Alexa apps, buy WiFi extenders so the plugs only suffer less than 30db loss.  Still Alexa does not find a plug although Tapo continues to work fine.

What else can I try or should I simply accept that linking to Alexa is too flaky to be viable?

Make sure to use the correct TP-Link account when linking Tapo in the Alexa app. Go to the Me page in the Tapo app to check which email is used.

Test whether the Tapo plug can be controlled remotely (e.g. when using cellular data) in the Tapo app. The smart device can't be synced to third-party platforms if it has disconnected from the cloud.

If it is a issue of remote control failure, refer to the suggestions here in case 2 for troubleshooting. Cannot use the Tapo app to control my smart devices
