Hi All,

I can't believe this isn't possible, since it was so easy to set up with a previous Philips HUE sensor and plug socket combo.

T100 sensor, activating a P110 power plug socket.

The plug is attached to a CCTV monitor. When I am in one area covered by the T100,
I need the CCTV monitor to turn on and REMAIN ON. Then for the monitor to turn off,

5 minutes after I have left the sensor covered area.

But I can't see how this can be done with the TAPO app.

So what ultimately happens is, I'm in the area covered by the sensor, but the CCTV monitor keeps turning off

every 5 minutes, and then turning back on again 20 seconds later.

Can someone please confirm if 'remain on' is possible with the TAPO movement sensor?

Thank you,

Can you share your automation settings here? What action did you set for the smart plug? If you choose 'Remain On for a set time', then smart will be turned off anyway once the timer ends. But if the sensor gets triggered frequently, the plug will be turned on again shortly and repeatedly.

I would recommend creating two automations, one to turn on the plug when motion sensor is triggered and another to turn it off when no motion is detected by the sensor for a set time. Note that in this setup, you will still need to make sure the motion sensor detects movement when you're there, if you fall asleep and remain still, the plug will be turned off due to no movement.

  @Wayne-TP

Thanks, Wayne. I'll try that later, and post the result on here.

The current settings I have are simply:

TAPO Movement sensor

When: Sensor detects movement

If: (not used)

Then: Turn on TAPO plug/socket

-------------------

TAPO Plug/socket

Default state: Last 'on' state

Auto off timer: On (10 minutes)

It is the auto-off timer keeps turning off the plug. The timer will not reset when the plug is turned on again, unless it is being turned off, then turned on.
