Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.4 Build 20240514 Rel. 35017

I have 7 each Tapo P100 smart plugs all updated to latest firmware.

Several days ago I updated the TAPO app (android) from Google Play store. Unsure of version or exact day. It was latest version at the time (likely 3.9.522 or 3.9.521 , prior to latest version out now as of 7 April, 2025 which on my device is v 3.9.523. There is more recent version shown on APK pure (3.10.237) but it is not available in the Play Store for me.

Updating to that version started a chain of events / mysteries that took me several days to solve.

3 devices had existing schedules (set to reboot at 4AM. Off at 3:59AM on at 4:00AM for example).

After updating the app several days ago, all 3 devices no longer followed the specified schedule and instead were off by 7 or 17 hours. The devices set to restart at 4AM now restarted at 9PM.

At first I thought the device had an issue until I discovered it was happening to all devices with set schedules.

I am very thankful nothing dangerous / critical was connected to these plugs.

I am hoping to know if TPLink is aware of that problem / what happened and if it is now resolved? I was unable to find app changelogs anywhere. For now I am not using the schedule feature of the smart plugs.

Thank you in advance.

Were the schedule rule changed, or just the effective time? Try to create a new schedule, see if that takes effect in time.

Check what's the time zone of the smart plug (Tapo app > smart plug Device Settings page > Device Info.). Have you changed the time zone and location of your phone recently?

Factory reset one plug and reconfigure it, monitor whether the problem still exists.

Dear  @Wayne-TP

Nothing changed except for updating the TAPO app in play store. Schedules were in place for months with no issues. Time zone did not change, remained correct. No changes in the network at all. The effective time changed as I stated by either 7 or 17 hours depending if they are ahead or behind of the schedule.

For now I have disabled all schedules and have no issues. Will try adding schedule back on a single device to see the effect.

  @Wayne-TP

Hi Wayne, I have the same issue with P110 socket(s).

If I set up a schedule to start at 7 AM, the app automatically starts a 7-hour runtime. I can't find any other option in the app to adjust the duration except through the timer. However, even if I set the timer for 2 hours, it still defaults to 7 hours, which is quite frustrating.

Why can't I set up a schedule in a way that lets me simply choose a start time and an end time? It would be much more intuitive than having to combine the schedule and timer. Is this something your developers could improve?

Thanks,

Wence

>>  Do you mean the smart plug will be turned off automatically if it has been on for 7 hours, regardless the plug is turned on by the schedule or the timer?

Please check if the auto-off timer is enabled on your smart plug. Go to smart plug Device Settings page > Auto Off Timer.
