  @ryg

Hi, Thanks for the video. That's odd, as the bin file here already includes both ID and B4 codes.

You might receive the new firmware push message in the next 1-2 weeks.

As there are mixed Deco models in the Mesh system, have you tried temporarily removing all the E4 units and leaving the main M4 only?

By the way, have you ever tried to use firmware recovery to flash the 1.7.0 firmware here:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2958/ -HTTP Uboot Method

Best regards.

  @ARGamingPK1

Hi, the firmware here is actually the official bin file, and I got it earlier for the community test.

So if you still have the issue with the 1.7.0 bin file here, I think the official release would do the same thing.

As you have a mixed Deco Mesh system with Deco X20 as the main Deco, have you tried to remove Deco X20 and only leave M4 units, then check whether the preferred connectioned Deco would stay on the selected unit?

For the WPA3, there hasn't been a plan to add this feature to the Deco M4 yet.

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi David if you read carefully my reply to this thread before the video i send, I did The Uboot Method 2

"Second attempt:
1. I updated from WEBUI 192.168.0.1
2. Both firmwares M4_V1/V2 (US/AU/UK/B4/JP/TW/EG) and M4_V1/V2(SG) both failed immediately.

So the conclusion is that I still can't update using the firmware...."

This is the result....both firmaware failed instanly....no indcator percentage running at all

I'm a happy now!!! M4Rv2 1.8.0 is out now and my problem solved!!! Thanks TP-LINK!

  @ryg Thanks. I didn't notice that the second attempt went through firmware recovery.

I'll consult the engineer for more assistance first in case the official release won't help either.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Yeah i remove Deco X20 and use only Deco M4 as Main and Satellite Units and now Devices Connection Preference working fine but i want to use Deco X20 as Main Unit because X20 is faster and powerful then M4.

Please & Thank You !! ❤️

  @David-TP Will a similar firmware for S4 V2 be coming, with client (not satellite) connection preference?

Thanks!
