Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version: V8
Firmware Version:

If I turn my plug off, either via app or button on the side, it doesn't turn off the appliances that are plugged into it. Not the first time this has happened, extremely frustrating.

It has the latest firmware and has been reinstalled. Any suggestions??

What appliance was connected to the smart plug? Please double-check whether it is a supported type by the Tapo smart plug. The plug can be damaged easily when controlling an unsupported device for a long time.

The smart plug is designed to connect and control only one device at a time, it is not suitable for use with a power strip to control multiple devices simultaneously. This could lead to situations where the total load from the connected devices exceeds the maximum load supported by the plug, or where the inrush current when starting a device exceeds the rated current of the plug, posing a risk of damaging the plug.

For your case, you may try to contact the local support team to see if it qualifies for product warranty.
