Tapo/Alexa skill re-link loop

Hi!
Can't find the right place to post this because it isn't a device issue but I'm having an issue with my Tapo account needing to be relinked with Alexa every day and sometimes multiple times a day, meaning notifications from my cameras/doorbell aren't working and my plugs aren't controllable until I realise it's happened and re link the account.
Is this a known issue or has anyone got any advice please? I have tried unlinking Tapo manually and relinking both via the Alexa app and via the Tapo app and it doesn't make a different which way around I try. It will still disconnect a few hours later.

Hello everyone,
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. The reported issue has been resolved now.
For details and recovery method, please refer to the following:
1. Issue description: Tapo devices intermittently disconnected (showing offline) in Alexa/Google Home apps approximately every 24 hours. Temporarily resolved by relinking the Tapo skill.
2. Fix time: June 3rd, 01:30 AM PDT.
3. Recovery Steps: Relink (manually disconnect then reconnect) Tapo with Alexa or Google Home regardless of the current status. Whether your Tapo devices are online or offline in the Alexa/Google Home at the moment, simply relink Tapo again.

@ChrisBrails I've been having this exact same issue for a few days to a week(ish) now. This is something new Alexa or Tapo end. Nothing has changed on my network for several months, so nothing to do with our configuration for sure.
Edit: Just to say it happens like clockwork once every day in the evening at the same time every time.

@StiffCookie thanks for letting me know that it's not just me.
Hopefully it's something that gets fixed soon. So far today I've had no notification of needing to re link 🤞

I just this week set up a bunch of bulbs and outlets for my parents, and am having the same issue, having to re-link every day. Came here to see if there was a solution. I like the devices, they work well, but this issue renders them useless, and I'll be returning everything if this isn't fixed soon.

I've been having exact same problem. Only started thia week. Unlinks/skill disabled itself every day and once relinked/enabled works fine.

@ChrisBrails just a tip for you guys.
Go to the Tapo app > Me (bottom-right) > Support center > Choose any one of your products > Third party services > View all > Work with Alexa option > Contact Technical Support > Email > TC7 > Alexa option.
For options, I guess other (TC78) would be most applicable.
Report the issue there, the more people that do, the more attention and traction it is likely to get.

Thanks for this. I've just done as you suggested 😊
This is the AI auto email reply I received:
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out. It seems that you are experiencing frequent disconnections between your Tapo account and Alexa, requiring you to re-link the accounts multiple times daily. This issue may be related to a need to reset or refresh the integration between your Tapo and Alexa accounts. Here's how you can address it:
1. **Unlink the Third-Party Account via TP-Link:**
- Open the Tapo app and go to 'Me' > 'View Account' > 'Change Password'.
- Set a new password for your Tapo account. After doing so, an email will be sent to you confirming the password change.
- In the email, select the option to 'unlink services'. This will disconnect all third-party accounts, including Alexa, from your Tapo account. Then, you can re-link it to establish a fresh connection.
2. **Unlink the Third-Party Account via the Alexa App:**
- Open the Amazon Alexa app.
- Navigate to the 'Skills & Games' section and find the Tapo skill.
- Disable and then re-enable the Tapo skill to refresh the integration. Follow the prompts to log back into your Tapo account and re-link it with Alexa.

@ChrisBrails I got the same, I just replied saying I tried all that but it doesn't make a difference, it's either Tapo or Alexa side.
Hopefully that'll redirect it to a human.
