Tapo devices going offline daily in Google Home - Daily relink is required to resolve

I have noticed a bug over the last 2 weeks where on a daily basis, my Tapo devices will appear offline in Google Home but are still active in the Tapo app.
I am running 5 Tapo devies in the app
2 x P110 smart power plugs
2 x P100 smart power plugs
1 x GU10 smart bulb
and I have also imported a Kasa smart plug into the Tapo app.
As stated above, on a daily basis when I call on Google Home to interact with any of these devices I will get a response that they are offline. I check the Google home app and yes they appear offline. I then look at the Tapo app and the devices are still online so there is something breaking the connection.
If I relink Tapo to Google Home, it finds all the devices again however this is a short term fix as the next day they revert back to being offline. I suspect the authentication key that Tapo provides to Google home has been set to expire after 24 hours.
As mentioned, I have no issue with my Kasa device and the app connects to Google Home and stays online.
I have tired uninsalling Tapo, clearing cache on Google home, restarting my phone and resinstalling Tapo but still the same issue.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident as there is a reddit thread on this issue already
https://www.reddit.com/r/googlehome/comments/1kyczw7/tapo_devices_keep_going_offline_in_google_home/
I ask that TP-Link address this issue or I will be escalating with the ACCC (here in Australia) for a full refund on all my devices that I have purchased as works with Google Home is false advertising.
I await TP Links response

2. Fix time: June 3rd, 01:30 AM PDT.

Please be aware that the information provided above pertains to issues that were present at the time this thread was posted. If you experience similar problems later -- unstable connections between Tapo devices and Google Home, you can refer to the following suggestions for troubleshooting:
1. Make sure your Tapo smart devices maintain a stable cloud connection -- device's led status always stays in solid green (blue, or other colors, depending on the models) and the remote control (using cellular data or connect to a non-home WiFi) through Tapo app always works. Third-party control fails when the smart devices are disconnected from the cloud - remote control failure.
>> If your Tapo devices cannot be controlled remotely within the Tapo app, check Case 2 suggestions in this article. Cannot use the Tapo app to control my smart devices
2. Try to relink Tapo and Google Home.
3. If you have other smart devices from other brands that are also linked to Google Home and experience a similar issue, then it is likely a problem with Google services.

Same here – exact same issue.
Tapo devices show as offline in Google Home daily, but work fine in the Tapo app.
I live in Germany, and if nothing is done about this soon, I will report it to our national consumer protection authority (Verbraucherzentrale), as this seems like misleading advertising.
TP-Link really needs to act.

@sami-abl1 I have the same issue here with my 7 Tapo P100 but with Alexa.
it used to unlink by itself every 15 days as I kept a record when this happened.
i reset everything to no avail. I then deleted the Tapo app and Alexa app and now has make things worse. It unlinks itself every day now.
i am too so hacked off that I have 10 P100 smart plugs that I have to relink every single day. Not fit for purpose. Tapo get your finger out, the common denominator here is the Tapo app !

Same here. I am using Tapo with Google home and need to reconnect every day. After some testing it seems to 'unlink' the two everytime after I leave the house, meaning going from local wifi to cellular with the cellphone where the app is installed on (I'm also using the googe home and away functions to trigger some Tapo automations). Hopefully this is resolved soon.

An update from me. I uninstalled Tapo and downgraded to a version that was released around the start of April. It is version number 3.10.240 for Adroid
Since downgrading, I am yet to have the app disconnect and have been checking it every four hours or so to ensure it is still connected in Google Home.
There has been 5 or 6 new versions of the app since this one so something has broken inbetween those releases.
I am not sure if this will work for everyone but so far for me this is promising

Hi Wayne,
Thank you for the response. My devices were already online in Google Home so I have now relinked the Tapo app again while already connected as per your suggestion.
I will report back on if this fix works
