  @David-TP

Hi David,

For the third(!) attempt the retailer managed to reset the guilty unit (all in all, it was the 20th attempt that was successful!), so finally no replacement was needed.

Currently both units are working well (both have the 1.7.0 Build 20250228 Rel. 64570 firmware, but looking at the System Log, I get following

- critical messages: Sun Jun 8 23:58:03 2025 user.emerg syslog: tp229,505[10230]:

- a long list of error messages

- millions of warnings

- millions of notices

- tons of debugs

I've been contracted with the same ISP for 20 years, their modem has been working here for several years, and as said, causing zero issue with my old router (TL-WR841ND).

Your thoughts please?

Kind regards

  @Sutike

Hi, thanks for the update.

I can't explain why it starts working properly now. I tend to believe it is due to the firewall settings.

As for the system log, they mainly record regular network interactions and don't need extra attention.

I've seen many times that users shared system logs and asked for further explanation. Unfortunately, there aren't many useful details left. For further analysis, the users are usually required to install a specific debug firmware.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @Sutike Hi sorry for joining in, i have some thought about your problem. The solid red (different from blinking red) is indicate that the deco is not getting internet at all (but maybe got an ip address from the ISP but the internet is down) So i think there is some setting from your ISP have to be adjusted..while blinking red (usualy satelite deco) means that the satelite not getting connection to the main deco or to other deco, usualy because of the distance or obstacle..so make sure this.

Let me ask you this:

1. On you main deco m4 what mode do you use Wifi router or AP mode?

2. What router is come from the ISP that you connect your eternet cable to the deco?

Maybe check you eternet cable too...maybe something wrong with it...

Let me know...

cheers...

I'm a happy now!!! M4Rv2 1.8.0 is out now and my problem solved!!! Thanks TP-LINK!

  @Sutike No no my problem is unique, my M4 is rejecting the firmware... I alreadry tried those method, but the tplink said that the firmware somehow not compatible with my device only I dont know why.

@David-TP knows why I ask him that in #16 laugh

So how is your problem going? is it gone already?

  @ryg

Hi Ryg,

Thanks for your message.

The story started there when the main deco started to turn solid red. I swaped the tow unit, so the satellite became the main one. Whatever I did, it kept solid red, however at least I had internet in the house.

After replacement, the same story: one of the units working well, the other one immediately turned solid red.

Finally, after min 20 restart attempts, it's working.

- I use the Deco M4 in router mode, since the purpose of purchasing it was to establish a reliable connection with my 4 Tapo security cameras (the old router was not able to communicate properly with my C520ws). Plugged directly to the ISP modem.

- the modem is owned by the ISP (Huawei perhaps)

- each and every cable is brand new, changed them in March-April, Draka UC300 Cat.5e F/UTP and Draka UC400 Cat6 U/FTP UC400 patch cables. The one connecting the main unit with the modem is original one in the Deco package.

Kind regards

  @ryg

Uppppppps! How can it happen? I'm not an IT expert, so just guessing... Isn't it a language issue due to some special characters?

Wish you luck

  @Sutike

"it kept solid red, however at least I had internet in the house" how come you got internet when solid red occur?

Your isp router is Huawei, the deco in wifi router mode and connected via ethernet cable (which is new), so it should be no problem. Im stil guessing the problem is not from your deco but from yous ISP (not the Huawei) but the ONT i guess..

Or the cables that comes with the deco package is broken try replacing it....

i dont know, @David-TP told me that something with the mac address and region code thing that are not included in the new firmware, which I think should not happen if they release the official firmware. Everyone should be able to install the firmware without exception as long as their deco is version 1 and 2.

I try to beg tp link for resolving this issue.... but still no response...

I'm a happy now!!! M4Rv2 1.8.0 is out now and my problem solved!!! Thanks TP-LINK!
