Archer BE230 – Speed Capped at 150Mbps in Access Point Mode (Both WiFi & LAN)
Archer BE230 – Speed Capped at 150Mbps in Access Point Mode (Both WiFi & LAN)

Hi Team,
I’m facing a consistent issue with my Archer BE230 when running it in Access Point mode.
-
I have a 1 Gbps internet connection.
-
When using the BE230 in Router mode, I get full speeds—900+ Mbps up and down on WiFi devices, which is excellent.
-
However, when I switch it to Access Point mode, the speed drops drastically to a hard cap of around 150 Mbps, both on WiFi and wired clients.
-
The AP is connected to a MikroTik E50UG, which acts as the main router. The MikroTik is confirmed to deliver 900+ Mbps to other Ethernet devices directly.
This suggests the issue is isolated to the BE230 when operating in Access Point mode. I’ve tested with multiple client devices and cables—results are consistent.
Has anyone else encountered this limitation in AP mode? Is this a known bug or configuration issue? Any insights or firmware updates that can resolve this?
Thanks in advance for your support.

so i did some experiment and found out that there is a bug in the WAN port of mikrotik causing pause packtes to be sent hence the low speed on BE230 AP (lan and wifi) mikrotik is aware of this and are fixing this for now the solution is to use some other ports as a WAN port BE230 was not the culprit of this issue Mikrotik E50UG is the trouble maker
