Archer GE800, Homekit and IoT devices not working after firmware update
Hi all!.
I've purchased the GE800 this February and is was running smoothly with Apple Homekit and some IoT devices connected to the IoT dedicated WIFI, firmware V1_1.1.6 Build 20241120.
Two days ago, firmware version V1_1.2.1 Build 20250610 was officially released so I've updated my GE800, because I wanted to try the new DoT/DoH support.
And everything seems working fine as expected BUT wireless Homekit devices: they all became unavailable with the "No response" tag.
My setup:
- GE800
- Apple TV 4K 2021 as my Homekit hub, running latest tvOS version
- a Philips Hue bridge, wired
- a Aqara bridge, wired
- two smart plugs and a smart lamp from Meross, wireless, connected to the IoT network
With firmware V1_1.1.6 Build 20241120 everything worked for months. After the update to V1_1.2.1 Build 20250610, the Meross devices became unavailable, all at once. Other Homekit devices kept running, but their are wired so they are in the same network as the Apple TV.
I've tried to reboot the router -> no effect.
I've tried to reboot the Apple TV -> no effect.
I've tried to reboot the Meross devices -> no effect.
I've tried to remove the Meross devices from my "Home", then add back again: I was able to add them back but as soon as I finished the configuration, the devices became unavailable.
The Meross devices were indeed connected to the IoT network and I was able to control them with their native app, but not anymore from the Apple "Home" app.
So I tried to remove then again and add them back but to the "main" WIFI network and now they are back working.
So, my guess is that something in the new firmware broke Homekit when devices are connected to the IoT network (and it's fun, because that was the supposed network those devices should be connected).
Anyone else experienced this issue?
