Model: Tapo P100
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.5 Build 240411 Rel.143808

I have a Tapo P100 smart plug and so far it worked flawlessly.

In the last week or so, it stopped managing the power state. What I mean is that I basically cannot switch them off.

I can connect to them on the LAN and send a power on/off command successfully via the Tapo app. I can even press the power button on the device itself and the light goes on and off, but they just keep passing through the power, i.e. they are stuck in an "on" state.

Is there a fix that doesn't involve starting from scratch and factory resetting? I've tried unplugging it completely for a while, which hasn't done anything.

The plug even clicks when I click turn on/off, suggesting that the relay inside is actually doing something.

I already switched the LED status from “Auto” to “Off” but it didn’t fixed the issue.

  @Capitolino

Please double-check whether the appliance is a supported type by the Tapo smart plug. Controlling an unsupported device has risks of damaging the smart plug. What types of loads can the Tapo plug support?

Additionally, please note that the Tapo smart plug is suitable to control one appliance at a time, connecting a power strip to power multiple load devices is not recommended. Overload situations might occur without your awareness and damage the smart plug gradually as time goes by.

If the product fails under proper usage, reach out to the retailer or local TP-Link support for warranty assistance.

  @Capitolino  I had the same problem with a couple of plug.  You could try re pairing it, but likely dud. Return for a refund.

  @Pinter97 That isn't helpful at all... I'm rasing the concern here because this should be an easy firmware fix.
