Deco mesh model hierarchy

Hi all!
I have X20, X50 and X50 Outdoor devices in my mesh installation.
I think the correct hierarchy is to have one of the X50's as the main Deco and X20 as satellites.
However the X20 has the "Test Internet Speed" feature which is very useful for remote management.
I will lose this feature if one the X50's is set as the main Deco as it doesn't have the "Test Internet Speed" feature.
Is it ok to leave the X20 as the main and if so are there any negative impacts?
Regards

Hi, can I have the firmware version of the Deco X50 as well as Deco X50-outdoor?
There are some features, such as WireGuard VPN, DOH/DOT, as well as Internet Backup>/Hotspot Backup, that follow the main Deco.
If your Deco X50 is V1 with the latest firmware 1.6.7, you might lose the above features when Deco X20 is the main Deco.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Thanks @David-TP
X50 Outdoor (hardware version 1.0)
Firmware: 1.2.8 Build 20240914 Rel. 35513
X50 (hardware version 1.3)
Firmware: 1.2.10 Build 20241105 Rel. 40010
Is there a way to determine the hardware version through the App ? I think it's available on the web interface but I can't see it on the App.

Hi, thanks for the update.
I'm afraid Deco APP didn't display the hardware version.
Usually, I identify the hardware version based on the firmware "Build number" as well as "Rel number"。
If the Deco X50 is V1.3, I think it would work well when Deco X20_V3 is the main Deco. Their supported software features are almost the same.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Great thanks David-TP !
Is any information available that explains the hierarchy you just explained?
This would help decide between the various models, versions and firmware levels

While you wait for David to get back to you. I like using the compare tool to look at the differences between the modes. If we use the 3 modes you have
https://www.tp-link.com/us/compare/?typeId=5757&productIds=70872%2C60785%2C59335
You can get a better idea which one is the better unit to be the main deco. As an example, speed wise they are almost the same with the exception of the X50 and X50 outdoor units both of them have double the 5g speed vs the X20 but since most devices are 2,4 GHZ anyway speed won't be an issue.
