Hi there,

I've recently had some cabinet lighting installed in my kitchen, which is powered from a plug socket above the cabinets. I was wondering if I could used a smart plug for the light drivers, the a T100 motion sensor to turn them on for a set period of time (which I'm sure is possible), my question is, if its set for 2 minutes, and I'm in the kitchen the whole time, will it turn them off, and then as soon as it sees motion again switch them back on, or will it keep the lights on for as long as it sees motion, then when it doesnt anymore, starts the 2 minute countdown?

Hope that makes sense, just dont want the lights turning on and off all the time, that would be more annoying that having to turn them on and off manually!

Thanks,

James

As per the automation rule, the smart plug will be turned off if the motion detection does not detect movement for over 2 minutes. The countdown will be reset as long as the motion sensor detects movement. If your kitchen is big, consider adding more sensors to cover more spaces. An automation can include multiple triggers, and it will activate whenever any one of these triggers is initiated.
