@Joseph-TP After updating to 1.1.3, I did a factory reset on the router. Seems to be working now on all frequencies (2G, 5G and 6G). I disabled Smart Connect to make sure that I can connect to all frequencies separately.
Just an FYI.

Hi All,
Firmware 1.1.4 Build 20250813 rel.41793 has been released in most regions. You can check for updates in the firmware update interface or download the firmware from your region's TP-Link official website.
This firmware should fix the reported issues and has been verified by @TheHypnooToad ,@vlwwwwww ,@Maciej.
The firmware for the US region has not yet been released, but I believe it will be released soon. Please give us some time.
Thanks for your understanding.

@TheHypnooToad I have the same problem. I ended up downloading the previous version from the website and installing it via the web interface with a cable to the be550

@TheHypnooToad The 1.1.3 firmware broke something in SmartConnect. If the network name is shared between frequencies, it keeps dropping and reconnecting to the network. Enabling only one frequency works around it, if you need wifi to download the previous firmware to roll back.
Actually, after trying some more stuff out, it looks like only the 5 GHz network is broken. You can give it its own network name, but devices can't properly connect to it.

Hello All,
@microserfian,
Are you using the BE550 in Access Point mode or Wireless Router mode?
Please tell me the specific wireless clients. Is there any error message when you can't connect to the BE550's Wi-Fi?
For example, "connected but no internet" or "failed to connect"?
Before updating to version 1.1.3, the wireless connection was always stable, right?
'If the network name is shared between frequencies, it keeps dropping and reconnecting to the network.' Does this mean that as soon as you enable smart connect, the wireless connection becomes unstable? Are there any specific error messages?
Did you test 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, and 6Ghz separately? So you confirm that there was an abnormality in the 5Ghz connection?

Experienced some issues too. Apparently only the 2G network works properly. Reverted back to the previous version.
Running in AP mode connected via cable to a BE805 (my main router). When connecting to 5G, it can't obtain an IP address. Reverting back to the previous version fixed the problem.

Hello @ChuckLox ,
Thank you for your feedback.
I'd like to confirm whether you've tried resetting your router after updating to version 1.1.3.
Of course, if you prefer not to test version 1.1.3 for the time being, we respect your decision.
We are actively working on a fix for this unexpected behavior with the new firmware.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any further details.
Thanks again!

I'm using mine in AP mode.
With SmartConnect enabled, any device that is 5GHz capable failed to connect. I tested manually from my Macbook Air M2, which would alternate between "Connected" and "Connecting", and when connected would give a message that it was using a self-assigned IP -- it didn't get anything from my DHCP server and used an APIPA 169.254.x.y address. Turning off SmartConnect and giving the 2.4 and 5 networks different names allowed the Mac to connect to the 2.4 network, but the 5 network had the same problems. The BE500 showed no devices conencted to the 5GHz network even though I know there are other devices that should be using it. I'm not sure about the 6 GHz network as I only have a couple of devices that use it so it wasn't a priority to test before rolling back the firmware.

Hello@TheHypnooToad ,
Thanks for your reply.
Hard reset means that you need to press and hold the reset button until the LED blinks to reset the router to its factory default settings.
Alternatively, you can choose to downgrade back to 1.1.2 firmware like other users. And it will also return to normal.
We are working on a new firmware to fix this unexpected behavior.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
