I opened a thread a little while ago, indicating that I couldn't connect to Netlfix on my LG TV. After resetting the router, I thought it was due to the network name (same as old router) and info being cached from the old router.

After resetting the router, Netflix on the TV worked fine. But it started happening again. TV connected to Internet, but Netflix servers can't be reached.

ive now identified the issue. The Bedtime feature of the app sets times where devices can't connect to the internet. We have this set from 1030pm to 7am.

Issue is, once the bedtime time starts and Netflix is accessed after 1040pm, the Netflix server address is added to a "blocked" list that persists after the 7am time, meaning anything accessed between 1030pm - 7am is permanently blocked, even after 7am.

I'm already a little annoyed that a lot of features are locked behind a subscription, which weren't explained before purchasing the router, but this broken Bedtime feature of blocking the internet causing permanent blocking is very annoying. Any plans on fixing this?

Yeah, that sounds like the Bedtime feature is borked. It shouldn’t be carrying the blocklist past the set hours, but I’ve seen similar with some parental control setups where DNS entries basically get stuck. You know what usually clears it? Manually flushing the blocklist or rebooting the router after the window ends, but that’s a pain if you have to keep doing it.

Honestly, I’d reach out to support and flag it—they don’t always test these “family features” as hard as the core networking stuff. In the meantime, maybe disable Bedtime for just the TV or set up a custom schedule so Netflix doesn’t trip the rule.

Hello @Alex12121212, Thank you for posting on the Community.

Regarding this unintended behavior about the Bedtime settings, could you please confirm whether you have configured the Content Filter in the same Profile? I assume the Bedtime setting does not block Netflix, but is a result of the Content Filter.

Please create a new profile and don't block any content through the Content Filter. Only set the Bedtime as required, and then observe if Netflix works properly after the Bedtime ends.

Let me know the results.

@Kevin_Z I never set any content filters or blocked websites.

I only set Bedtime times for the profile, add the devices, and turn it on. It appears that when something is accessed during those times, on those devices, it is added to a block history list.

The devices associated to the profile, even after the Bedtime finishes, no longer have access to the internet.

A scenario I ran:

- TV has access to Netflix app and Radio app. I used both successfully.

- Created a profile and set the Bedtime to 5min earlier and end in 5min time. As expected, the TV could no longer stream Netflix or radio through the apps

- Once the Bedtime ended, Netflix and radio still would not stream. I could see numerous sites listed under Block History (I never added these myself), where I had the option to unblock, but I still couldn't access them through the TV

- I opened up an app that was not used during Bedtime (YouTube), but nothing would load and it was added to the Block list.

The only thing I can do is delete the profile and the TV now has access to the internet again.

The Bedtime feature appears to be broken as once Bedtime kicks in, it stays on indefinitely, even after it is meant to turn off.
