  @SugarBaby

but the H100 that slowed down has been working with matter for a long time, everything was fast and it still has the original official firmware 1.5.23. The change occurred with the installation of the beta version on another H100, which should have no connection.

  @Pavel_sml Understand, I don't have a second H100 hub, but I believe you. My H100 automations are lagging now, sometimes not even triggering. I even turned off all matter sharing, and it's still the same.

@Jebeyer  Beta firmware has been sent to your device. You may check it later in the Tapo app and perform the update.

I'm trying to think of a way that I can set up a security system that will work even while offline, but I don't see any ideal solutions with the tapo hub.

I can set up my tapo Smart Lock to automatically sound the siren if the contact sensor is open and the door is locked, and I can even plug in a smart plug and make it's power on status as a condition so that a tenant can have their door locked and still open a window if they want to simply by turning off the smart plug. But doing this will not work when the internet goes down.

If I'm using the beta firmware I can make the alarm sound automatically as soon as the contact sensor is open, then I can make the Smart plug turn the automation on or off, then I can have the Smart Lock turn the plug on or off so that there is no confusion whether it is on or off, but doing this makes it possible so that if a tenant comes home and internet is down, the automation will not change when they open the door and the alarm will sound.

I love tapo and kasa products because they work well out of the box and do not require a hub, but now that I am getting deeper into smart home automation I am now wishing that they did in fact have a hub that could easily tie everything together and make smart actions work offline.

  @paulrataczak just buy cheap aqara m100 hub and you can bridge Tapo things to it and make it local automations.

You can't use WiFi devices as trigger or use them in conditions "if". it will never be local automation with tapo hubs, it's not supported at all. I use cheap aqara m100 matter over thread controller for it, but you need tapo matter plugs.

Or you can use home assistant if you have time for it xd

  @SugarBaby  thank you so much, you must be the most helpful person on here. 😁

I was actually looking into home assistant and considering it, but if your solution will do the trick, it's certainly a lot cheaper. And it's for a rental, so it's hard to justify spending that much on something I'm not even going to get to use myself.

Still a little frustrating that another company has a cheap device that can do what the tapo hub can't.

Question. Does the aquara hub do its tasks efficiently? The thing I am primarily concerned with is a tenant unlocking the door to turn off the automation for the alarm, and then there being a delay or a lag.

  @paulrataczak

no lag at all, it's almost instant automation, but what will you use as trigger? I don't think if you can use any tapo locks as trigger with aqara hub duo to lack of matter feature, you will need aqara lock or any with matter support.

for plugs you need tapo p110m, basic version won't work with matter controllers

  @SugarBaby Ahh well, it was worth a shot.

If I want complete control at that place I'm probably going to need the home assistant anyway, some of the switches are not matter enabled. Matter is a great idea, but if not everything uses it or if companies don't want to get on board all of the time with their products, home assistant is most likely what people are going to end up having to turn to.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
