Hi there,

I've just discovered Tapo and its amazing range of products (started with one smart plug, now have a full system).

I have created a basic intruder alarm using the H200, a number of window/door sensors, a number of motion sensors, some smart buttons, and even some multicolour spotlights.

I have 2 initial questions:

1. is there a way of seeing if an alarm is set (I have created some smart actions and shortcuts to activate/deactivate alarms).

2. is there a way to quickly share smart actions/shortcuts? I have family members who will need to be able to activate/deactivate alarms, I have shared access to the various components it now looks likeI need to create the smart actions again from scratch on each device.

Any other tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The condition feature in automation can help achieve scenario one: creating an automation to check the status of another automation and then send a notification accordingly. You will also need a dedicated device to serve as the trigger for this scenario.

For example:

1. When single-tap the smart button, if automation A is disabled, then send me a notification: automation A is still OFF!

2. When single-tap the smart button, if automation B is disabled, then send me a notification: automation C is still OFF!

3. When single-tap the smart button, if automation C is disabled, then send me a notification: automation C is still OFF!

If you want to avoid creating too many automations, consider categorizing the alarm settings. You can group similar settings into a single "Status Check" automation and adjust the condition rules to use AND logic (when all conditions are met). This way, the automation will only trigger when all conditions are satisfied. For instance, you can group outdoor alarm settings:

[When] the button is clicked,

[If] the following conditions are all met:

1. Front door alarm is enabled

2. Back door alarm is enabled

3. Entrance alarm is enabled

[Then] send me a notification: All your outdoor alarms are online!

Share automation or shorcut is not a supported feature. You may raise a feature request post for it, though. Our product team will review the feature requests regularly, hot topics with detailed background information (e.g., use scenarios, reasons why you want or don't want a particular feature, etc) will be prioritized for evaluation.
