Enough is enough. I'm about to release a YouTube video about the disastrous implementation of the Kasa KE100. It will be titled "TP-Link Kasa KE100 - AVOID purchasing!" There are a number of well-known issues that have not been resolved for years. In order of severity:

* Extremely poor hysteresis- TRV will fully close and allow a room to drop several degrees in cold weather before turning back on and overshooting. Massive thermal discomfort. Proper implementation is to keep TRV partially on to maintain stable temperature.

* Lack of features- Cannot see what position valve is in. Can't customise hysteresis or behaviour. Can't set temporary override to TRV when room is cold.

* Broken API- breaks home assistant automations. TRV shows as "heating" even when target temperature is not met and the valve is closed.

overall rating 3/10. The performance is significantly worse than an analogue TRV.

@Afzal786 thanks for speaking up and lets hope TP-LINK will eventually assign that issue to some developer that knows what he's doing.

Why TP-lnk has two lines of products - KASA and TAPO? Did they buy KASA line from someone and do not know how to maintain it?

It seems like a dead product with no meaningfull updates over last year.

I couldn't agree more that any analogue TRV does a much better job than KE100, no "jigsaw" temperature pattern, my radiators operate quietly (in terms of water flow) and provide stable temperature.

From my point of view, required changes in order of importance:

- redesign temperature controll and implement ability to "stabilise" CRITICAL

- add true open/close state (critical to users who controll their boiler depending on this state)

- add info on valve state (percent open) - nice to have!

- add 0.5C temperature increments - nice to have!

/Mike
